Potential clients often ask why we prefer Xero to QuickBooks (although we use both). We feel Xero is a more robust cloud-based software, and the better accounting system for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Why? Its customizable dashboard is well-organized, easy to read and simple to navigate; you can display current bank balances, your Account Watchlist (which highlights where you’re spending the most) and what bills need paying soon; everything to do with running your business is found in the Business module, including options for invoicing, preparing quotes and making payments. Xero calls itself “The Beautiful Accounting Software,” which applies most to their reports: attractive, highly-readable and just a few clicks away. Xero is more user friendly–with a minimalist user experience, it is intuitive. We used QuickBooks in the past, but once we switched to Xero, there was no going back. Comparing Xero to QuickBooks, Xero is simply more fun.
